One More Short Day In Harbin!!
I'm sooo glad because we only have one more day in cold, harsh, boring Harbin! I really want to get someplace warmer so I don't have to bundle up so much. I don't like being cold, and I get cold very easily. This place is cold, and it gets you cold very easily if you don't have, like, three layers of clothing!!
Next stop: Guangzhou!! Guangzhou is supposed to be a lot warmer than Harbin, which is good, but it's still not home! We will travel there tomorrow at around 2 and get there around 7. I'm dreading the flight!!
We seem to be traveling everywhere! Beijing-moderate Harbin-freezing Guangzhou-warm! That made packing a whole lot harder for Mama! Re-packing is also hard because when you get to your destination, you can't find anything! I bet when we get home and unpack, we'll all be surprised at what we packed and didn't wear because we couldn't find it!!
The jet lag is kind of wearing off, but I'm still going to bed at around eight, which is REALLY early for me and getting up around five to six, which is also REALLY early for me! I tried coffee this morning, and it really helped...
I really want to go home, not in a bratty/whiny way, (I haven't expressed myself on this subject to my parents much) but in a homesick way. I miss friends, family, and Mama Jo and Big Pop's home cooked meals! China isn't really bad for us because room service is excellent! We've only eaten out of the hotel room two or three times on the whole trip! We've also only ordered room service twice! We haven't been eating much, though- only snacks the first few days because jet-lag really messed our schedule up! I was really preparing myself for a harsher trip, but I guess that's why it's not so bad. I think we will be filling ourselves up better in Guangzhou where we will be with other adopting families and a guide that speaks English!
I feel like I'm just babbling now because I don't have anything exciting to talk about really. Then again friends and family have 'requested' more posts, so I feel like I need to write. I really like writing on the blog, so don't feel bad if you did ask for more posts! I don't have anything else to do, and I'm trying to keep myself awake until at least eight, and it's 6:40 now. I guess you will just have to listen to my problems, as one of my close friends says!! Haha!!
Oh, I need to explain this to you! I've posted three posts tonight, but they are all out of the order I want them to be. The one titled The Many Sided of Chloe Grace was supposed to be posted I think 2 days ago, but I looked tonight and it said it was just a draft so I posted it. The one titled Days 3&4 with Chloe Grace (or something like that) is supposed to be under this one, but instead The Many Sides of Chloe Grace is. Do you see what I mean!??! It's really bothering me, but I don't think I can change it! This one is supposed to be at the top, so that's good, but The Many Sides of Chloe Grace and Days 3&4 With Chloe Grace are supposed to be switched. Ok. Get it now?? =)
Please read on-I'm going to try and explain some cute things Chloe Grace does and did today! She woke up today, and I tried to say good morning to her. She was scared for some reason, though. She stared waving her arms and whimpering, so I got her some Cheerios. As soon as I started feeding her, she liked me! That was pretty funny. It takes her a while everyday to warm up to all of us. It's like she forgets how comfortable she was with us the day before, but each day she does make tons of progress. I was playing with her while holding her yesterday. I was walking around and I thought she would like it if I lifted her up in the air. This was the first laugh I got out of her, and oh my goodness was it a cute laugh! Then, today, she was going to go in the bathroom. Mama doesn't like for her to walk around in there because the floor is hard and slippery. She's scared Chloe Grace will fall, and I don't blame her. Chloe Grace is still pretty unbalanced even though she runs around! I was trying to block the door to the bathroom so she couldn't get in, so I got on my hands and knees and tried to shoo her out. We found out she is very ticklish around the belly area!! So I started crawling toward her and saying "I'm agonna getcha" When she just looked at me like I was crazy, I tickled her. That was the first laugh out loud I got from her. She wanted me to do that for the next 15 minutes, and it didn't get old to her. Every time she laughed harder and harder, so I kept doing it! She is a little bundle of mischief-that's for sure! She teeter-totters around like she owns the place, and when she falls down, she gets right back up and starts running! I really can't get enough of her!!
Right now I'm trying to eat grits with chopsticks. We have spoons, but we bought cheap chopsticks for fun. The grits and chopsticks are kind of hard...
I think I've written more than enough to satisfy everyone! Sorry if I've gone on and on too much!! I want to go play with Chloe Grace! Good Night!

Thanks MaCayla, for the posts. They are so great to read, and to hear how CG is getting more and more comfortable with you all. Sounds like you've been a major part in that, with all the tickling and playing!
ReplyDeleteMaCayla, you are a born writer. These posts
ReplyDeleteare so interesting. I have to send this and
then print out for Big Pop to read, as he
likes to 'savor' over them. (I do too, but
I just go to the computer!) Let me know
what you want for Sunday, the 7th, lunch.
Trust ya'll will not be so zonked out from
the trip, and can get back into our time
zone quickly. Will be praying to that end
too. We love you all so much & CAN"T WAIT.
MJ for BP too

ReplyDeleteHey MaCayla: I have enjoyed your blog so much. You are a wonderful writer and so informative and personal too. I am so happy that you are in love with Little Chloe too. She seems to be a really wonderful little sis. We are all looking forward to seeing you all again and meeting your new baby sister too. Love to you all. Travel safe. Esther
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all of your posts- your dad gives us the play by play on daily activities, but you give us the REAL information and let us live through you. I hope the trip to Guangzhou will be good and I know you will enjoy being able to walk around some on Shamia Island. Eat some Lucy's restraunt food for me. Yummm!!
