This is Mama, Hannah, and me, MaCayla in front of the entrance to the Forbidden City!

These are the huge red doors that you enter into.

This is a pond with coy fish in it. It is at the back of the Forbidden City, where we entered. The very back of the city is the Imperial Garden, which is where the pond is located. There are really big spooky-looking trees, and it is very beautiful.

This is also in the Imperial Garden. The little girl was so cute, because she was standing on the steps of this building eating her Rice Krispies. She got to be the star of the Imperial Garden for a while because everyone was watching her! SO CUTE!

These rocks were built (also) in the Imperial Garden. They are very unique to China, and there were several other monuments like this in the garden. I though this one was the most beautiful, though!

This is one hunk of jade! jade is is a stone that is important to the Chinese people. It was in a box on display in another part of the Forbidden City. (not the Imperial Garden! Haha!)

These are the Chinese guards walking in the huge courtyard of the Forbidden City. My dad teased me because they were looking at him funny when he took the picture. He told me I was going to get him arrested because I begged him for the picture!

These are huge cisterns that were used to put out fires in the palaces. One building in the Forbidden City has burned to the ground seven times, and they rebuilt it every time. It's still standing - I saw it! The cisterns used to be gold, but foreign soldiers eventually scared all of it off on the sides with their swords.

I thought these gargoyle things were pretty cool. This is a corner of one of the palaces in the Forbidden City.

This is the very front of the Forbidden City. The lion was supposed to guard the whole Forbidden City, since it's in front. There is another lion on the other side, but we didn't get a picture of it. I think this is the lioness because under her paw, if you look closely, she has a cub. The other lion had a ball under his, so I'm guessing it was the boy.

This is in Tiananmen Square. This is a garden in the middle of the Square, with beautiful flowers making a design. There is a rope around it so you can't step on it, which is a good thing, because Tiananmen Square is so crowded, I doubt the garden would live very long!

This is just a picture of Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square is the largest square ever made. It's not very crowded in this picture, but the other side of it is more crowded. The colorful rectangles in the background of the picture are huge T.V. screens. They show the beauties of China, not anything else. Tiananmen Square was HUGE!
Beautiful pictures and good description!
