How many more days? None!
My dad woke me up Wednesday morning and the first thing he asked was "How many more days until we go to China?" I was indescribably happy to reply: "None!"
Wednesday I went to school, came home, went to church, and finally rode to the Atlanta airport! That day went by the slowest out of any of my days...even more than the last day of school! The Adkins dropped us off at the airport. Hannah and her best friend, Elizabeth, were bawling by the time they had to leave us there. We waited for about three hours in the gates, and when I was just about to scream with boredom, they called us to load the plane. At first, I was excited to get on the plane, but after about an hour I was cramped, tired, hot, and BORED! I thought the first few hours were bad, but the flight was fourteen hours. I was close to tears of frustration by the end of the flight. My head hurt, I was exhausted, (from getting up at six and staying awake all night) and the food was...better than I thought but still tasted like airplane food.
When we finally got off the plane in Seoul, Korea (south Korea by the way!!) we had to go through more security, ride at least six escalators, and ended up about three hours early at the next flight's gates. On the plus side, I got to ride about six of those really cool moving sidewalks too! I would have posted way earlier than this, maybe while I was on the plane, but the service connection wouldn't work. I was kind of mad, because I thought blogging may take up and pass the time, but instead I just sat there and stared at the chair in front of me for a while.
So you may be wondering why I am talking about the airports/planes a little too much. I haven't been to an airport since I was seven, which was the last time we went to China to get my other sister, Hannah. Its a little new to me, plus we have to ride two just to get to Beijing, our first official stop. We have gotten past the first long ride, and the next is only two hours (way better than fourteen!). I can't wait until we get to our hotel so maybe we can all relax a little. We get there at nine in the morning China time, but in America it would be around eight at night. Yeah. Major jet-lag coming from there.
I miss everyone, but not so much that I want to go back (no offense, friends and family). I mean, I'm getting my sister, so I'm not really thinking about people back at home. That makes me feel a little guilty, but we have been waiting for Chloe Grace for four years. I am so excited, and I want to scream. The Korean and Asian people in here would probably look at me funny though.
I'm not trying to be rude, but Asian people like to stare at American people...a lot. If you look at them and smile, they just keep staring and don't even smile back. I feel so our of place because I have red curly hair, I'm tall, and American. That is about at opposite as you can get from Asian people- straight black hair, short, and Asian. I need to go because Hannah is begging to watch a movie and this is the only movie-playing device we have with us! Bye!

Glad you made it to Korea big foot! I bet Hannah is enjoying looking like the majority of the people while you are getting stared at!
ReplyDeleteMaCayla, perhaps Asian people are staring because they are thinking how beautiful you are!
ReplyDeleteAll the frustrations in the world will be worth it all in the next few days. Hang in there and enjoy China!
